After the recent public outcry when South African newspapers published photos of deceaced actor Brett Goldin and designer Richard Bloom, I have the following to say:

Publishing photos of deceased crime victims is not condusive in any manner. The
bereaved are going through unimaginable pain and to further exploit their
agony by casting a public spotlight on their ordeal does not solve any
problems. However, if the media was to publish pictures of dead rapists,
murderers and all the other filthy scum that have forfeited their human
rights I would not object at all. I do not want to sound like someone out of
an old Feudal state but publishing pictures of dead criminals could maybe
send a message to all the other fuckers who hide in the slime waiting to
pounce on innocent people. Human rights are for humans but they have
forfeited their own humanity so human rights do not apply to these animals.

I found this following article on www.news24.com.

Very well written and very true!

Dear Editor,

Whatever happened to sovereignty? Following the news about Iran's nuclear ambitions and in particular the US's objection over the past week or so, it just strikes me as incredulous how the US seem to have no regard for other countries' sovereignty!

Iran's political leanings and alleged involvement in terrorism aside, the fact of the matter remains, it is a sovereign state and should not be dictated to by the US or the rest of the world on domestic policy.

Make no mistake, I realise Iran is no angel, but what next?

I'm so sick and tired of the rest of the world having to conform to the US's ideas and ways. It's arrogance to the extreme.

No wonder so many people have little time for them and are forever trying to bomb their a**es!

They are making enemies they can ill afford, with potential dire consequences, not only for them, but indirectly to the rest of the world.

Maybe it's time for the US to stop acting like a spoilt little child that wants to start throwing things (in this case things that go bang!), and make a genuine effort at promoting peace.

I had a very strange Easter Weekend. My Easter bunny was the same one that haunted the main character in that brilliant cult movie "Donnie Darko". Easter is the time of over indulgence in chocholate eggs and eating hot cross buns but behind this frivolous fascade lies the real face of Easter. And it is not pretty folks. Easter beckons us to ponder our own mortality. Christmas celebrates the birth of Christ, where as the central thread of Easter deals with death. The reality of death is not a subject that conjures images of festivity and as my I tried to reason the stark reality of this matter I got 100 questions for each answer. Death, Theology and the Cosmos is not something you can comprehend with human intelect. It's like trying to explain broad band internet technology to a cave man. Somethings are just beyond your cognitive capibilities and should be pondered by the spirit rather than the mind.

In my futile attempts to find answers to the meaning of Life and Death I developed a severe case of insomnia. Even Jack Daniels could not get my out of that one. I went into this anti-coma one night and let me tell you once insomnia has you in its grip you cannot escape. There is not much you can do but wander around like a lost ghost. You cannot read, make music or watch tv because your concentration is so fickle and your head feels like a piece of cottage cheese.

Existensialistic crissises are not fun. I wonder what Camus and Sartre must have gone through in the deepest chambers of their psyches. Of Nietzche and the Nihilists I dont even want to think. Nietzche is dead anyway. God said so.

Luckily I found some wisdom on the way and a few aphorisms that I take as sleeping pills has more or less restored the balance in my system.

Yes, Easter friday is a time of death  but remember that after death comes ressurection.

that's my cermon for the year.

peace and love

NEW KID ON THE (CHOPPING) BLOCK

Ek moet erken, hierdie Global village is 'n interesante plek.
